Camino Primitivo: Day Five

Los Hospitales route exceeds expectations!

Yesterday we did the iconic Camino Primitivo stage “Los Hospitales”, named for the ruins of 3 pilgrim hospitals located atop the mountain ridge tops. The threatening rain had disappeared from our forecast and we lucked out with another gorgeous sunny day.

The climb up to the top of the mountains was tough! The toughest I’ve ever done, despite what the nice German ~70-year-old Francesca told us on her way up for the third time. It was worth it!

Many wild horses
In the clouds
what goes up…a real knee-wrecker of a descent

Oh Denise! What an amazing feat that you and Tristan have just accomplished! But yes, ouch! I bet your knees really are talking to you!
I don’t think I could have done this one. It is not for everyone. Yet I envy the sights the wildlife and the views,…WoW! THOSE VIEWS~ Thanks for your post and for taking us all along with you by sharing these great pics and keeping us up on your progress on the way up. Really, so cool.
